Reflections: Communing w/ materials- 9/6/2023

Thinking about an aspect of going analog that I noticed that I love. Making art with intention (in this space) requires a lot of cooperation with the materials. I only have so much control over (the physics of) water and I like when that shows itself (in the work). I’m not the one totally running things but together we can make it work. The elements, environment (also) have their invisible say, but show up in the work. Even my breathing, pulse, (and) mood impact so many things. It shows up. It talks to me expressing it’s boundaries. I have to respect them, commune & get to know how these things behave & respond. Life lessons…
