Asemic Thoughts
Asemic writing is a style of writing that lacks specific semantic content. This means it does not have a clear meaning or can be interpreted in different ways. It often consists of abstract symbols, shapes, and lines that resemble writing but do not conform to any particular language or script.
I love that it’s completely illegible but triggers the viewer to decipher it and search for meaning. For me, I am usually thinking and writing something specific when these lines fall out. It’s especially useful when I want to complain or vent or rant real quick, but I have no desire to reread it. I just want to get it out and move on. It’s been an effective way to see the beauty in letting shit go.
However, for this one I wrote down an intention to send out into the ether which is why it made it’s way to a journal spread. My intentions tend to stick better when I write them down. And again, I can get it out and move towards actions instead of staying stuck in obsessive desires.
