Journal Entry: 8/25/23
What a week! Major progress on the blog. Just one day away from finishing the foundation.
I;m looking forward to writing the articles. Some quick, some long. Some weird, some straight forward. I really just want this to be an open art journal of thoughts, experiments, ideas, and finished work w/ a focus on books and paper arts.
Why couldnt I write that as easily yesterday?! I really worked at not over thinking & not over complicating things & remember that I could always change and update things later as it occurs to me.
Week In Review
Also really happy w/ how my books turned out this week! I made this journal & freely filled it with layouts that organically developed; It was fun applying experimental brushwork & using watercolors for inks. Also playing around w/ letterforms, handwriting, calligraphy, & asemic writing. As of this entry no drawing. But theres still room for it & time this week. Been wanting to collage too. There’s always next week to put that in the next journal. This is a good size for 1 wk.
Get Out
I kinda like green showing up in layouts in different ways. It ties in the color of the cover but ea/layout is it’s own thing. Like a mag. I didnt make a multi sig book. But I have somenew paper that I’m going to use for it. And if i can figure it out, I’m going to make a hard cover from an existing book for the cover & spine. I also want to come up with a way to compile jourals from the month. It was a great studio week but I failed to get out. Next week…TWO DAYS OFF!
