REFLECTIONS…

I haven’t had the time, space, or bandwidth to do many masterpieces over the last year or so. But I wake up very early just to give myself some time to write and create. I have to give myself small, finishable projects to keep me sharp and connected to my craft….and sane. I get really agitated and out of sorts if i can’t get it out of my system.

. . . .

I like this new looser style a lot. I like seeing the energy of the stroke work. I’m loving this implied detailed vs tight refinement. And getting back into a analog groove is nice. Just getting in touch with the materials is a pleasure that I don’t quite get with digital work. Don’t get me wrong…I love drawing digitally. But I can feel the difference between a computer interpreting my stroke, whereas with brush and ink, I can feel the materials expressing my stroke. It’s similar…but very different. Maybe a good essay topic….(?)
